BB-Xtreme: Friday 21st - Thursday 27th July 2017 - Keswick
BB Xtreme
Where in the UK can you enjoy exciting mountain or water-based activities in the day and also experience inspiring worship and challenging, faith-building teaching with thousands of others in one of the country’s main Christian festivals? The only answer to this question is the Lake District during the Keswick Convention! In recent years, a few members of the BB Mountaineering Club have enjoyed several days of walking, scrambling and climbing on the fells followed by evenings of worship and teaching in the Convention tent. They believe that other leaders and Seniors in the BB could also benefit from this amazing experience and are planning a camp which they are naming BB Xtreme in or near Keswick from 21-27 July 2017. We hope not only to offer the above outdoor activities, but also others such as canyoning, mountain biking, canoeing, sailing and wild camping. The camp will be aimed at groups of Seniors (with leaders), individual BB leaders and young adults who have recently reached the BB’s upper age limit who are perhaps now at university and are in danger of losing contact with the BB. To offer a wide range of outdoor activities, we will need to find a number of volunteers with current outdoor instructor qualifications (such as ML, MIA, SPA, MBLA as well as BCU and RYA qualifications). If you have any of these qualifications and can offer one or two days (or more) of instruction either at the weekend or on the weekdays (you don’t have to attend the whole week) or if you want to register an interest in attending the camp either on your own or with a group of Seniors, please contact Phil Tarr ([email protected]). Please also encourage other leaders and anyone who has recently left the BB to consider coming.
